Distance-Recording Vehicle was used to calculate mileage in ancient China. It dated back to the Wei and Jin periods about 1.700 years ago (220AD-420AD).
记里鼓车是中国古代用于计算道路里程的车。其发明年代大约可追潮至距今1700多年的魏晋时期。
It was a "sister vehicle" of the South-Pointing Chariot. They both were ceremonious vehicles and put in the forefront of the imperial procession side by side.
